Personnel
Walter
Mack, wmack@penncenter.com, Executive Director, is a native of St. Helena Island, SC with roots traceable back to the 1800s. He received his Bachelor of Science and Masters degrees from Benedict College and Pepperdine University. An employee of Penn Center for the past 22 years, he has held the positions of Deputy Director, Land Use and Environment Education Coordinator, and Program for Academic and Cultural Enrichment Program Director. He has been recognized by professional and civic organizations for his work with youth education and development.
Linda
M. Jenkins, ljenkins@penncenter.com, Acting
Director of Financial Services and
the Conference Center, received a Bachelors degree in accounting
from Benedict College. She is a native of St. Helena Island. Employed at Penn Center since 1985. Graduate of Penn School for Preservation, Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Rosalyn Browne, rbrowne@penncenter.com, Director of History and Culture. A native of St. Helena Island, her family ties to Penn Center span two generations. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts and her Masters in Education Administration from the University of Massachusetts in Boston. She retired from the Boston Public Schools after working for 27 years as a teacher and a principal.

Simmons,
jsimmons@penncenter.com, Administrative Assistant. Received her General Office Administration Certificate in 1973 at Beaufort Technical College of the LowCountry (Beaufort Tech). Employed at Penn Center for 28 years.
Karen
Worrell Ward, kward@penncenter.com, Program Assistant in the History and Culture Program, received her Bachelors
of Arts degree in Political Science from North Carolina Central University. She
began working as a Program Assistant at Penn Center in 1993. She is twice a graduate
of both the Penn School for Preservation Leadership Training School and the Master
Tree Farmers Course. Although, a native of North Carolina, her family's roots
run deep in the Gullah Community of Burton, South Carolina.
Robert
Johnson, rjohnson@penncenter.com, Facilities
Manager, is a native and lifetime
member of the St. Helena community.
He is a descendant of Penn School graduates and has over 30 years experience
in maintenance and ground keeping. He has been a member of the staff for over
25 years.
