Penn Center is Seeking Volunteer Guides for York W. Bailey Museum

Do you love history? Are you passionate about Gullah Geechee culture and African American heritage? Penn Center is looking for curious, community-minded people to join us as museum docents and guides at the York W. Bailey Museum, one of the most significant African American historic sites in the country.

Whether you're a historian, educator, student, or simply someone who believes these stories deserve to be told, there's a place for you here.

Join us on Sunday, May 24 from 4-7pm at the York W. Bailey Museum for an informal informational gathering to learn about volunteer and internship opportunities, ask questions, and see what it means to be part of preserving and sharing this living legacy.

We're especially looking for:

  • Historians and teachers

  • Gullah Geechee cultural educators

  • Students and interns seeking hands-on experience

  • Community volunteers ready to make an impact

This is your chance to connect with Penn Center's mission, meet the team, and find out how your skills and passion can help bring African American history to life for visitors from around the world.

Light refreshments. Good conversation. Meaningful work.
